About the position
Under the direction of the Associate Director, the part-time Eco-Conversion Programs Assistant will provide support to LSM’s eco-conversion initiatives. Eco-conversion is one of LSM’s key strategic goals: to encourage a change of heart in the Catholic faithful and motivate a more passionate concern for our common home, enshrining creation care as a Catholic priority.
In this capacity, the assistant will work closely with the Associate Director and LSM’s Eco-conversion Programs Manager and collaborate with key members of our movement and Secretariat to help implement our initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate meetings including scheduling, taking minutes, and ensuring proper follow-up of action items.
- Provide administrative, communication, and programmatic support for key eco-conversion activities such as the Season of Creation, the Contemplation Program, and liturgical moments.
- Assist in proofreading and reviewing materials for quality.
- Keep program files organized; update spreadsheets and databases.
- Provide support to online Zoom events.
- Support other tasks as needed.
Skills and Characteristics
Required
- Commitment to ecological conversion and LSM’s mission and values
- At least 1 year of experience in an administrative or coordination role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects at once
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a remote online environment, as well as in close coordination with a remote team across multiple time zones.
- Familiarity with Google Apps Suite, with the ability to learn new applications and programs quickly
- Collaborative attitude and a spirit of initiative and creativity

- Understands ecological issues and faith communities’ place in the environmental movement
- Background in theology and/or spirituality
Languages: Fluent English is required and professional Spanish is strongly desirable.

Salary: Competitive salary commensurate with experience
Hours: 20 hours per week, part-time position
Location: Preferably based in Quito, Ecuador. Other Latin American locations might also be considered.
Work environment: Remote. It will be based at home. Laudato Si’ Movement is a faith-based organization. Being Catholic is not at all a requirement to work here, but regular shared spiritual practices are part of our team culture.
