About this Position
The Hispanic America Programs Coordinator will support in the effective implementation of the Laudato Si’ Animators Program (annual and advanced) along the Hispanic America Region and in coordination with the Hispanic and Global Secretariat, the LSA in the region through activities and weekly monitoring at their different levels: Laudato Si’ Animators, Animators of Animators, Advanced Animators. Finally, this role will coordinate the development of LSM Chapters in Hispanic America.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic thinking and planning
- Build regional strategies and plans to strengthen the territorial organization of LSM.
- Support the implementation of strategies and plans for the region.
- Develop strategies and tools to improve work with the grassroots.
- Coordinate the implementation of global programs in the region.
- Support the development of leadership structures within Hispanic America, such as Chapters.
Chapters
- Manage the development of the Chapters in the Andes region.
- Support the coordination of Chapters and meetings, especially in those where there are complications.
- Support in the development of materials for planning, monitoring, and evaluation of work with Chapters.
- Coordinate the National Chapters through the formation and permanent follow-up of the Coordinating Teams of each country in Hispanic America.
- Coordinate the Local Chapters through the formation, consolidation, and monitoring of them, with communication and coordination of the Coordinating Teams of National Chapters.
Animators
- Support in the construction of the curriculum, execution, and permanent monitoring of the Annual and Advanced Training Program for Laudato Si' Animators.
- Coordinate the Laudato Si 'Animators Program through the promotion and permanent monitoring processes.
- Articulate, consolidate, and disseminate the Laudato Si’ Animators Program.
Circles
- To be the person of reference for the promotion and development of the Laudato Si Circles in the region.
Sustainability
- To be the person of reference for the promotion and development of the sustainability dimension in the region.
Other areas of responsibility
- From time to time, contribute work towards LSM’s overall mission that is outside standard responsibilities and instead relies solely on geographic location or work capacity.
Skills and Characteristics
Essential
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Social Management, or any other related field.
- 3 years of organizing experience in Catholic organizations.
- Strong knowledge of Catholic Church Structures and Catholic Social Teaching.
- Understanding of ecological issues at both the level of impact and the level of policy.
- Knowledge of the sociopolitical and sociocultural reality of Latin America.
- Experience in Volunteer and Group Management.
- Project Management.
- Endorses and embodies LSM values and the Laudato Si’ paradigm in behavior and words; comfortable supporting and working in a faith-based environment.
Desirable: Knowledge or training in administration/management.
Languages: English and Spanish are essential.
Location: Quito, Ecuador
Type: Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
Start Date: As soon as possible
