Overview

The Laudato Si’ Movement is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Design Volunteer to support our special projects team. This volunteer role will focus on creating visually engaging documents and social media content that aligns with the mission of promoting and implementing the principles of Pope Francis' encyclical, Laudato Si': On Care for Our Common Home.

Summary:
As the Graphic Design Volunteer, you will work closely with our Special Projects Communications Manager, contributing to the development of visual materials that inspire individuals, organizations, and communities to take meaningful actions toward ecological sustainability and social justice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and format documents, reports, and presentations using Figma, Canva, and Google Suite.

  • Create visually compelling social media graphics and content for various platforms.

  • Edit short videos for promotional and educational purposes.

  • Support the Communications Manager with visual materials for events, workshops, and webinars.

  • Ensure all design work aligns with the organization's branding guidelines.

  • Assist in maintaining a library of visual assets for ongoing use.

Desirable Skills:

  • Proficiency in Figma and Canva for graphic design.

  • Experience with Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets) for collaborative projects.

  • Basic video editing skills.

  • A keen eye for design, layout, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A passion for ecological sustainability and social justice is a plus.

  • Familiarity with the Catholic community or context is desirable.

  • Languages: Spanish and English preferred.

Commitment: 5 hours per week for 3 months, including two coordination meetings weekly.

You will gain hands-on experience in graphic design for both print and digital media, expand your professional portfolio, and build meaningful connections with leaders in Catholic organizations. A certificate of participation will be provided.
